By Rev. Jason Radmacher
We’re tempted to make the winter seasons of our lives definitive, to say, “That person used to be something, but look at them now,” or “God, what did they do to get into such a state,” or “You know them, they’ve always been like that.” We make judgements in the midst of these seasons, and even though our kids know that you don’t judge a tree’s fruit in the dead of winter, we do that to people, to one another, all the time. We don’t think about what they’re going through, what they’ve been through. We say, “That person can’t do it.” Thank God, God doesn’t look at any of us like that!
me. I’m gonna move. I’m gonna take a step.”
